Oxfordshire Cricket is delighted to announce that we have teamed up with FabLittleBag and Freda to ensure girls across Oxfordshire are considered and catered for both on and off the field.
With over 20 clubs in Oxfordshire now offering dedicated playing opportunities for Women and Girls – we now would like to guide the conversation around female wellbeing, as part of our cricket offer. This started on Wednesday, with FabLittleBag presenting on the Women & Girls Forum which will help raise awareness of such an important topic.
In line with our strategy to Transform Women and Girls cricket in Oxfordshire, and in the context of our upcoming Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan, that we will be funding environmentally friendly and sustainable sanitary provision for all 20 clubs in Oxfordshire who have entered our girls competitions for 2022.
Through our partnership with FabLittleBag & Freda, all 20 clubs with a girls playing offer, will be in line to receive a starter kit of products for a female cubicle at their club, meaning female players in Oxfordshire should be provided with a discreet dispenser and environmentally friendly sanitary products, for any moment they might need them.
Fiona Currie, Director of Women & Girls Cricket at Oxfordshire Cricket said:
“This is a really great initiative, focussing on an all-round provision to our female cricketers as we continue the drive forward of our on-the-field commitment to our players. As we shine a light on the plan to make our clubs more welcoming environments for everyone, this is another stepping stone along the way.”
Ed Wilson, Cricket Development Manager (Women & Girls and Coach Development) at Oxfordshire Cricket said:
“We are always looking for ways to increase participation and break down barriers for girls to play cricket. This initiative shows our commitment to doing that. Fab Little Bags is a fantastic company and I believe every sports club should offer these basic essential provisions to their women and girls. Hopefully, this helps pave the way for other sports and institutions.”
