Bartholomew School hosted the Oxford Indoor League Division 1 Finals Day on Sunday.
The first Semi-Final saw Kingston Bagpuize face Witney Mills.
Mills won the toss and elected to bat scoring 117 for 4 in their 10 overs with Mike Dove 27; Frankie Crouch 31no and Dylan Delport 29no.
In reply, after a positive start for Kingston a fantastic catch from Frankie Crouch off Sam Haselgrove to dismiss Matt Warner for 17 seemed to turn the match. Kingston then losing regular wickets to be dismissed for 62 in 8th over with Simon Launder last man out for 19. 2 wickets for Mills’ Robin Kidd. This proved to be Kingston’s first defeat in an excellent indoor season.
Mills ran out winners by 55 runs.
The second Semi-Final saw a very close encounter with Wolvercote facing Oxenford.
Wolvercote won the toss and elected to bowl. Oxenford scored a competitive 98 for 5 off their 10 overs with Tim Hamp 29no and Abdullah Sadiqi 28. 2 wickets each for Wolvercote’s Sahil Jamandas and Barkat Ahmed.
In reply, Wolvercote reached their target for the loss of 4 wickets in the final over with Mohammed Shafqat 25no and Sahil Jamandas 29no.
Wolvercote winning by 2 wickets.
The final saw an excellent contest between Witney Mills and Wolvercote.
Mills won the toss and elected to bat scoring 107 for 1 in their 10 overs with Mike Dove 25ret; Frankie Crouch 23; Ben Madden 18no and Sam Haselgrove 26ret.
In reply, despite losing an early wicket an excellent partnership of 70 between Mohammed Shafqat 34no and Sahil Jamandas 25 kept Wolvercote up with the required run rate. The momentum was carried on by Barkat Ahmed 23 and Chris Babbs through some excellent running, and deft placement. Two quick stumpings from Mike Dove off Sam Haselgrove put the game back in the balance with 6 needed off the last over. Last man standing; Mohammed Shafqat got Wolvercote over the line with 2 balls to spare to secure the Division 1 Indoor Trophy.

Both Wolvercote and Witney Mills will now go forward to represent the Oxford Indoor League in the Oxfordshire Finals Day to determine our entrant in the ECB National Competition in Spring 23 – good luck to all teams for Sunday.
