Pathway Talent Search

The overarching approach of our talent development system is to develop a constant stream of local, representative and professional players. Structured to provide progressive transitions between ages and stages of development our talent development pathway is driven by three guiding principles to establish the foundations for individuals to thrive;

• Ensure opportunities for talent to be identified, developed and selected.
• Deliver environments, coaching and support that maximise potential and performance over time
• Provide experiences that foster a long-term enjoyment and engagement with the game.

The Talent Development Pathway is underpinned by a player recruitment system to assist the identification of talent within Oxfordshire. We implement a nominations process annually to ensure that Girls and Boys with the requisite potential are able to transition into the pathway through nomination by their School, Club or other source.

We invite our Clubs, Schools, Coaches and Officials to nominate players whose current performance or future potential demonstrates the capability or capacity to represent Oxfordshire at either County or Development Age Group Cricket level. It is from these nominations that we invite players to attend the first phase of the 2020/21 Talent Development Pathway, commencing in the Autumn.

2020-21 Player Recruitment
Before submitting a player nomination please note the following:

• Players currently representing an Oxfordshire Boys or Girls County or Development Age Group will automatically be invited for the forthcoming year.
• Players who were deselected from the 2019/20 pathway at either the first or second phase (Stream A or B) will automatically be invited back. If you are unsure of an individual’s exit point then please nominate the player.
• Players that are new to the system, have moved into the county or have developed since their previous involvement within the pathway require nomination.
• To qualify for Oxfordshire a player must ordinarily either have been born in Oxfordshire, live in Oxfordshire, play club cricket in Oxfordshire, go to school in Oxfordshire or have represented Oxfordshire at County Age Group level in 2020.
• Nominated Girls must be born between 01/09/2003 and 31/08/2012 and nominated Boys between 01/09/2002 and 31/08/2013.

Please submit one response for each player you are nominating using the online form provided. All nominations MUST be received by Sunday 13th September 2020. We ask that you provide accurate information and that you obtain consent to share player, parent or guardian information before submitting.
