Purpose
Oxfordshire Cricket has developed considerably since incorporating in 2010. We have had many notable successes on the field and created a strong and stable infrastructure, upon which we can broaden and deepen cricketing participation in our county. However, life beyond 2024 is uncertain, the ECB’s Sky TV deal ends, placing up to 30% of our revenues at risk. Additional resources are critical if we are to sustain our adventurous programme which aims to make cricket available to everyone in our county. We want to get ourselves into a position where we are always able to make decisions on merit, rather than affordability. We also want to build our own ground and cricket centre to increase our facilities capacity.
We need the help of experts in the areas of stakeholder relationship building, fundraising and marketing; we are looking to our members, parents and supporters to volunteer their services and be an intrinsic part of our journey. We appreciate that the group will take time to form and perform, and as such would like to start the process as quickly as possible.
The Function of Advisory Group
Our aim is to develop a plan where we can generate new ideas, test our current thinking and move Oxfordshire to a more sustainable position in the long term. The remit of this group will be broad and it will have the potential to shape the future of cricket in the county. Mark Beard has agreed to support both myself and the group to reach practical solutions, which the Board of Oxfordshire Cricket can promptly implement. The group will be supported by at least one Director and the executive workforce.
Experience We are Looking For
We are looking for committed individuals with experience in relationship building, fundraising and sports marketing who are capable of shaping our long-term future. They will have the vision to see that cricket can be a mechanism for bringing communities together, widening our talent pool of players, coaches, administrators and advocates and creating more capacity for organic growth.
