Wiltshire Girls Under-15s 117 (28.3 ovs; Elise Haines 41, Ellie Simpson 3-17, Zara Wyatt 3-32)
Oxfordshire Girls Under-15s 118-8 (28.2 ovs; Lucy Johnson 31, Martha Honeybone 3-31)
Oxfordshire won by 2 wickets
Oxfordshire Girls Under-15s completed their 40-over campaign on Monday with a nail biting win over Wiltshire at Moreton Cricket Club.
Invited to bat first, Wiltshire were soon in deep trouble as Ellie Simpson (3-17) and Zara Wyatt (3-32) knocked over the top three inside five overs. Elise Haines (41) and Anna-Mae Shearn (23) added 44 for the fourth wicket, but Simpson was not to be denied as she bagged her third wicket during her opening six-over spell. Sana Kassey (2-17) ensured that there was no respite for the Wiltshire batsmen once Simpson and Wyatt were rested. Haines’ resistance was finally ended by the returning Wyatt, and Zoe Soonawalla and Honor Murray picked up a wicket each as the visitors were bowled out for 117 inside 29 overs.
In reply, Oxfordshire found the going tough against the pace of Anna-Mae Shearn, allied with the nagging accuracy of Martha Honeybone (3 for 31). A quick-fire 18 from Aimee Diab pushed the home side to the brink of 50 runs in just 8 overs; but wickets fell at regular intervals, and Oxfordshire were five down with 50 runs still required. However, opener Lucy Johnson (31) held firm, and now found a willing partner in Philippa Dellar (18). In contrasting styles, the pair negated the threat of spin-duo Emily Smith (2-14) and Ellie Rumble (1-20), before both departed with the finishing line in sight. A slight wobble followed, before Zoe Soonawalla edged Lottie Carr to the fine third-man boundary to complete the victory by two wickets with the best part of 12 overs remaining.
Oxfordshire finished the season a creditable 3rd in Group 8 of the ECB Girls Under-15 One-Day Competition.

Buckinghamshire won by 8 wickets
The Under-15 Girls’ season concluded with two T20s against Buckinghamshire at Middleton Cheney on Tuesday. In game one, Oxfordshire battled the cold, damp conditions to post a respectable total of 115 for four from their 20 overs. The hosts were heavily indebted to Emma Sherwood’s maiden 50 for the County, scored from 53 balls received. The Buckinghamshire response began brightly, as they reached 19 for no wicket from two overs; but exceptionally tight bowling through the next 14 overs restricted the visitors to just 45 further runs – despite no wickets being lost. This left Buckinghamshire with too much to do from the final four overs, and they fell six runs short.
Oxfordshire came a distant second in game two, as three wickets for leg-spinner Lucy Barnham – coupled with five run-outs – left the home-side with a below-par total of 94 for nine. Kitty Spurgeon picked up two early wickets, but strong hitting from Tegan Stockdale and Pip Lloyd-Williams saw Buckinghamshire home with more than six overs to spare.
