Didcot CC kindly hosted the inaugural county U15 Hundred Finals Day on Sunday 21 August.
Sunday saw return visits to Finals Day this season for both Challow & Childrey CC and Tiddington CC; and first visits for a number of years for Minster Lovell CC and Middleton Cheney CC.
In the first Semi-Final Challow & Childrey CC beat Minster Lovell CC by 8 wickets.
Challow & Childrey won the toss and elected to field.
Minster scored 95-6 off their 100 balls with Budmin Mathota 44 and Seamus Rowles 27. Brett Newton 2-11 and Henry Maunder 2-16 the pick of the bowlers for Challow.
In reply, Challow reached their target off 60 balls for the loss of 2 wickets with Joe Westmoreland 28; Daniel Westmoreland 22no and Murray Gray 21.
In the second Semi-Final Middleton Cheney CC beat Tiddington CC by 8 wickets.
Batting first Tiddington CC scored 91-7 off their 100 balls with Louis Stanfield 25. Aidan McGinley 2-17; Freddie Faulkner 2-9 and an economical spell of 0-10 from 20 balls from Dexter Ainley being the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Middleton reached their target for the loss of 2 wickets off 58 balls with Aston Hazell 34. A wicket apiece for Louis Stanfield and Monty Boyd.
In the Third / Fourth Place Play Off Minster Lovell CC beat Tiddington CC by 2 runs.
Batting first Minster Lovell scored 138-3 off their 100 balls with Budmin Mathota 50ret and Lewis Gardner 23no.
In reply, after an excellent start Tiddington were held to 136-6 off their 100 balls with George Coombs 53ret and Finn Williams 27.
In the Final, Challow & Childrey CC beat Middleton Cheney CC by 50 runs to be crowned U15 Hundred County Champions.
Middleton Cheney won the toss and elected to field.
Challow scored 131-5 off their 100 balls with Dan Westmoreland 50ret; Murray Gray 36 and Louis King 22no. Wickets were shared between the Middleton bowling attack.
In reply, the regular loss of wickets meant Middleton were always behind the asking rate finishing on 81-7 off their 100 balls with Dexter Ainley 24. Tight bowling by the Challow attack saw Ethan Malik take 3-11; Ethan Konschel 2-24; Henry Maunder 1-11 and Dan Westmoreland 1-15.
Paul Short from Oxfordshire Cricket thanked the coaches, parents and players for their enthusiasm in running the inaugural Hundred Competition in a compressed window, Didcot CC for hosting, the scorers and finally David Hall, Isaac Hall, Mark Jenkins and Colin Muttit for officiating the day.
Finally, Paul handed out the medals to both teams and the U15 Hundred County Cup to Challow & Childrey captain Dan Westmoreland.
