We would like to invite you and other interested representatives from your club to our Cricket Development Evening (CDE) that will take place on Monday 13th March 2023 from 18.30-21:00 at St Edward’s School in Oxford.
The Cricket Development Evening is a great opportunity for clubs, schools, partners and associations to come together and we would love for as many of you to attend and support the event as possible. This event is free to attend, to help support the development of cricket. Members of the Oxfordshire Cricket workforce, the ECB and our partners will also be in attendance.
Attendees will have the option to select two workshops to attend out of six. The information about the workshops is as follows:
Workshops Available:
1. Talent Id and Nominations to Pathway – Matthew Barnes (Oxfordshire Cricket)
2. Facilities and Funding – Neil Higginson (ECB) and Paul Short (Oxfordshire Cricket). Neil is one of four Facilities Planning Managers in the Recreational Game, Neil covers the SW & Wales. He works closely with many stakeholders in supporting the delivery of facility projects ranging from new grounds, pavilions and practice facilities to creating welcoming environments. and Paul Short (Oxfordshire Cricket)
3. Live Streaming – Neil Fairbairn (NV Play) – This workshop will be an overview of NV Play’s Live Streaming and Video Capture functionality, concluding with a Q&A. Oxfordshire Cricket has recently created a partnership with NV Play the developers of PCS Pro. The live streaming and video functionality of PCS Pro adds exciting new features to the platform aimed at both commercial and high-performance benefits for your club. The software offers a seamless process, controlled by the scorer’s natural scoring keystrokes via PCS Pro, meaning no extra resource or specialist knowledge is required to create your live broadcast. The live video and scoring data also simultaneously update Play Cricket for fans and members wanting to engage with your live Match Centre.
4. Volunteer Experience and Recruitment – Esther Jones Russell (ECB) This workshop will look at ways to improve the recruitment and retention of volunteers in your club, with a particular focus on increasing the number of women and girls involved. You will have the opportunity to learn from good practice examples and start to develop your own action plan to take back to your club.
5. Coaching CPD – Movement Literacy – Marcus Campopiano (Oxfordshire Cricket) This workshop will outline the fundamentals of physical performance and will give all coaches a foolproof system for athletic development when working with young cricketers.
6. Women & Girls Forum – Ed Wilson – Oxfordshire Cricket – An opportunity for clubs with a women & girls section or clubs looking to develop opportunities for women & girls to hear about Oxfordshires women and girls competition offerings, share best practices for growing women and girls cricket, and network with fellow volunteers.

Parking: Parking takes place on ‘Field Side’ of school (Post Code for Sat Nav is OX2 7NZ). The ‘Field Side Entrance’ off the Woodstock Road has a St Edward’s School entrance sign as well as a Nuffield Health sign. The main car park is number 10 on the map and it is a gravel car park, but there is parking before there along the edge of the Netball/Tennis Courts (number 46) and in between the courts and the astro pitches. People will need to walk from the car park round the playing fields and under the pedestrian tunnel (number 55) to ‘Quad side’. There will be signage to guide attendees to the Olivier Hall.
