Matthew Barnes, Performance Director said:
“We are delighted to welcome Marcus to Oxfordshire Cricket and to announce him as our newly appointed Talent Pathway Manager.
The forging of the Talent Pathway Manager role is an exciting progression that will help us to better support the long-term development of girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18 and assist the transitioning of those players into our adult teams or beyond into the recreational and professional game.
Marcus’s expertise in the field of strength and conditioning will enable us to move forward with our aspiration to provide more holistic talent development programmes through the integration of physical performance and his leadership in this area of specialism.
Marcus has the potential to significantly impact our programmes and the athlete support we provide our players and the chance to move into a management position that will progress his professional career – I look forward to working with Marcus and wish him every success in his new role.”
Chris Parkinson, People Director said;
“Marcus already has a history of success with Oxfordshire Cricket, and I’m sure this will continue in his new role. Not only does Marcus bring a strong understanding of the game at a very high level, but his passion for S&C will also contribute enormously. This further investment in our Performance Pathways will lead to the continued development of our young players, and their ongoing success and contribution to the game”
Marcus Campopiano, Talent Pathway Manager said,
“I am excited to begin my new role at Oxfordshire Cricket as Talent pathway manager. I started playing for Oxfordshire cricket last year in the National Counties Championship and immediately bought into the ethos and philosophy of the club. They were incredibly welcoming and I instantly knew that this was an organisation I wanted to be a part of. I am looking forward to working closely with the players, coaches and parents of Oxfordshire cricket and continuing the great work that has been going on for the last few years under the guidance of Matthew Barnes.”
