Banbury have secured the Bernard Tollett trophy, after beating Oxford Downs in the final on Sunday at Banbury CC.
After winning the toss and batting first, Banbury got off to a flyer with captain Olly Clarke hitting 41 off 28 balls and Joe White hitting 42 to give them a first wicket partnership of 64. Lloyd Sabin hit an impressive 53 off 32 balls to help guide Banbury to 169-4 .
In reply, Oxford Downs got off to a good start thanks to Freedie Smith and James Ellwood putting on 59 runs for the first wicket. Curtly Slatter 20, Tom Costley 28, and Matt Warner 27* kept Oxford Downs in with a shout, however in the end Banbury held their nerve to win the match by 17 runs.
The day concluded with the presentation ceremony which saw Chris Clements present the medals, and trophies.
