Oxfordshire 50’s A team welcomed Gloucestershire to Sandford St Martin CC and after losing the toss were surprisingly inserted by the opposition.

A steady start saw the hosts reach 69-0 after 15 overs but then 2 quick wickets shortly after drinks slowed down the run rate a little ahead of some quick fire runs from Jason Hunt. At the next drinks interval Oxfordshire were 139/3 after 30 overs. A partnership of 80 from Steve Hurt and captain Mark Robey pushed up the scoring and by the end of the 45 overs Oxfordshire had reached 243/9. Steve Hurt 69, Mark Robey 57 and Pablo Mukerjee 48. 

Gloucestershire’ reply saw England over 50’s captain Richard Trotman open the batting and despite some excellent bowling from Colin Allen, Jason Hunt and Sean Miller, his imperious innings of 133 n/o saw the visitors reach the target with only 1 wicket down and an over to spare.
