Sunday saw the conclusion of the Oxford Indoor League for 19/20 with our first Finals Day in the competition.
The first Semi-Final saw Witney Mills take on Shipton Under Wychwood.
Shipton batted first and were restricted to 60 all out in the 10th over. Dylan Delport and Sam Haselgrove being the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 8 and 2 for 13 respectively from each of their 3 overs. Witney reached their target in the 6th over without loss; Mike Dove 22no and Oliver Burney 20no.
The second Semi-Final saw Kingston Bagpuize take on Boddington.
Kingston batted first and set a challenging target of 120 for 5 from their 10 overs; JJ Smith 49no and Matt Warner 46 and 2 wickets for Steve Shaw. After a positive start, wickets started to fall and Boddington were bowled out for 48 in the 8th over.
The Final then saw Witney Mills take on Kingston Bagpuize in a very tight contest with fine margins deciding the result.
Witney batted first and were all out for 84 in the final over with Ben Madden 19; Sam Haselgrove 18; Mike Dove 17 and Ben Fisher the pick of the bowlers only going for 12 runs in his 3 overs. JJ Smith 23 and Simon Launder 22no got Kingston over the line in the final over for the loss of 5 wickets; Ben Madden the pick of Witney’s bowlers taking 3 for 27.
In a short presentation Kingston Bagpuize collected their trophy and now go forward along with the runners-up to the Oxfordshire Finals Day.
