Sunday saw week 3 of the Oxford Indoor League Division 2 with both Charlbury CC and Bartlemas CC playing 2 games each so that all teams have now completed 3 games in the season.
In the first game Charlbury CC beat Bartlemas CC.
Bartlemas batted first and lost wickets at regular intervals reaching 71 for 5 off their 10 overs with Mansoor 14 and Masood Karim 11. Economical bowling figures from all the Charlbury bowlers; with 2 wickets for 15 off 3 overs for Matt Jenkinson.
In reply, despite the loss of a couple of early wickets, Tom Nash 25ret and Simon Smith 19no took Charlbury to their target for the loss of 2 wickets in 7.2 overs.
The second match saw a very close encounter with Charlbury CC remaining undefeated beating Eynsham CC.
Charlbury batted first scoring 106 for 5 off their 10 overs with Simon Smith 45no; Tom Nash 20 and Andy Bain taking 2 wickets for Eynsham.
In reply, Eynsham fell just short on 103 for 3 off their 10 overs with Andy Bain 30ret; Kevin Read 19no.
The third match saw a young Sunningwell team win their third game against Bartlemas CC.
Sunningwell batted first scoring 89 for 5 off their 10 overs with Nathan Himpson 26; Dom Whinfrey 15. Basit the pick of Bartlemas bowlers picking up 1 for 14 off his 3 overs.
In reply Bartlemas lost early wickets; though Rohit 21 and Basit 19 took the game deep before being bowled out for 80 in the 9th over. 2 wickets for Rhys Whinfrey and economical bowling again by Louis Himpson.
The fourth game of the day saw Stanton Harcourt CC beat Deddington CC in another close contest.
Deddington batted first and scored 70 all out in the final over with Elliott Barton 17 and Matt Carpenter 15. Each of Stanton’s bowlers taking 1 wicket.
In reply, Stanton reached their target in the final over for the loss of 3 wickets with Matt Waite 26no and John Bower 25.
The final game of the day saw Faringdon CC win their first game and inflicting a first defeat on Ascott-Under-Wychwood CC.
Faringdon batted first scoring 96 for 4 off their 10 overs with Paxo 32no; Rob Brown 11 and Steve Hibbard 10no. A wicket apiece for youngsters Rowan Moss, Josh Davies and George Worsley.
In reply, Ascott struggled to keep up with the required rate ending their innings on 56 for 5 off their 10 overs with Sam Barnes 15; Stewart Moss 10 and Josh Davies 10no. Excellent figures for all the Faringdon bowlers, however, the pick being Andy Liddiard with 3 for 7.
The League Table is now starting to take shape with Sunningwell CC, Charlbury CC and Stanton Harcourt CC all remaining undefeated at the top of the table.
