Following the completion of Division 2 with Charlbury CC and Ascott-Under-Wychwood CC being promoted; Sunday saw the first round of fixtures in Division 1 of the Oxford Indoor League.

 

The first game saw Wolvercote CC beat Cumnor CC in a very close contest by 3 wickets in the final over.

Wolvercote won the toss and elected to field.  Cumnor were restricted to 79 for 4 in their 10 overs with Dylan Driscoll 25no and Kelvin Driscoll 24.  Excellent all round bowling and fielding from Wolvercote; Sahil Jamandas with 3 wickets backed up a very economical spell from Chris Lynch.

In reply, Wolvercote maintained the run rate reaching 81 for 3 off the first ball of the final over with Darren Jones 26no.

 

The second game of the day saw Oxenford CC beat Witney Mills CC in another close contest by 1 run.

Witney Mills won the toss and elected to field.  Oxenford were bowled out for 91 in the 9th over with Amer Ali 34 and Steve Wright 17.  A wicket apiece for M Mohan, Robin Kidd and Oliver Burney.

In reply, Mills fell 1 run short at 90 for 5 in their 10 overs with Ben Madden 19no.  A wicket apiece for Tushar Menon and Dominic Ashford.

 

The third match saw Witney Swifts CC concede their game to Bartlemas Strikers.

 

The final game of the day saw Kingston Bagpuize CC beat Boddington CC by 60 runs.

Boddington won the toss and elected to field.  Kingston scored 120 for 4 off their 10 overs with J Payne 36 and Simon Launder 34no.

In reply, Boddington were all out in the 7th over for 60 with Jim Clark 17 and Nick Fuller 16.  A wicket apiece for JJ Smith and Simon Launder.
