Oxfordshire lost to Buckinghamshire yesterday (Sunday 27th of June) at Gerrards Cross CC in a close encounter between the local rivals.
After winning the toss and putting the hosts in to bat first, Oxon started well with Robbie Shurmer dismissing Callis for 23 after he was caught by Ward. Soon after, Joe Butcher trapped Louth LBW for 13 to leave the hosts 44-2. Shurmer and Thomas then took further wickets to leave Bucks 125-6. Alexei Kervezee and Cameron Parsons then put on 110 for the 7th wicket, with Kervezee going on to score 115 not out to help Bucks set Oxon 255 to win. Shurmer and Thomas were the picks of the bowlers for Oxon taking two wickets apiece.
In response, Oxon lost Freddie Smith and Tom Cosford early as they were both dismissed for 10 leaving the visitors 22-2. Harrison Ward and Tom Haynes then put on an 82 run partnership, before Haynes was dismissed for 24. Soon after, Ward was dismissed for 64 to leave Oxon 132-4. Cater was then dismissed for 45 as he attempted to get Oxon close, but the visitors fell 39 runs short after being dismissed for 215 all out. To view the full scorecard click here
Oxfordshire will now play Bedfordshire in their next group match of the NCCA One Day Trophy on Sunday 4th of July at Aston Rowant CC.
