Edward Wilson Joins the Participation & Growth Team
Oxfordshire Cricket is pleased to announce that Edward Wilson has joined the workforce in a role as Women & Girls Cricket Development Officer.
Edward joins us having worked for Cambridge City Council as Cricket Development Officer from 2006 to 2008, he has over 10 years of sales experience, mostly gained through working at EON and also held roles at Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and CricHQ, where he was developing live scoring apps for schools and clubs. Being a keen cricketer, Edward is currently undergoing his Level 3 Coaching certificate. Edward coaches the girls cricket at his local club in Warwickshire and in 2018 coached Kibworth CC (Leics) Ladies team.
The Women’s & Girls’ Cricket Development Officer role is central to the continued and successful growth of the women’s and girls’ game within Oxfordshire. Edward Wilson’s key responsibilities will be to : –
- Engage with and developing new and existing female sections within cricket clubs to grow the number of women & girls’ playing cricket
- Increase the girls only offering at cricket clubs using the All Stars and Dynamos programme
- Deliver increased girls participation in schools through Chance to Shine and Lady Taverners programmes
- Deliver and grow the playing opportunities for women and girls’ year round. Including the implementation of a girl’s league programme, as well as increasing the number of female coaches, officials and volunteers.
- Drive cricket to become a truly gender-neutral sport
