Following the announcement that Oxfordshire will be placed in Tier 4 restrictions until the 13th of January at the earliest, Oxfordshire Cricket have taken the tough decision to furlough members of the workforce and members of the coaching workforce under the government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
Apart from our schools programme, which is under review, all of our programmes are suspended consequently all members of the workforce will carry on working but in a greatly reduced capacity. This will have an impact on the responsiveness of the workforce to service the needs of the Oxfordshire Cricket Community. Email accounts will remain open but there will be a delay in responding.
Unfortunately due to the reduced capacity of the workforce, the members forum #1 which was due to take place at the end of January, will now be postponed to a later date, that date will be determined by the return of the workforce fulltime to prepare for the event. We will provide a further update in due course.
For any urgent enquiries that requires an immediate response please email [email protected] which will be monitored on a daily basis.
Chairman, Chris Clements said: ‘’The financial impact of not being able to run our winter programmes is considerable and we have decided that we need to take decisive action now to avoid eroding the financial position we have established. With that in mind all salaried staff will be placed on a one-day working week in January to cancel and re plan for a quick recovery, our coaches will also be furloughed during this period. ’’.
