Each year The Grassroots Cricket Awards rewards and recognises the outstanding work carried out by volunteers. On Tuesday 28th of June, the first award for the 2022 Grassroot awards was presented at the magnificent Wormsley Estate at the U12 and U13 schools finals day in partnership with the Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Associaton.
Peter Tubb has been the main man behind the Oxfordshire Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) for over 35 years. He has done this in a voluntary capacity.
The role has seen him organise countless fixtures through the leagues and cups for schools across the county. This has with no doubt enabled individuals (probably in their thousands) to take part in school cricket.
On behalf of Oxfordshire Cricket, all the schools, and with no doubt the countless amount of players who have taken part in fixtures over the years, we would like to thank him for his years of dedication, time and effort to schools cricket in Oxfordshire.
Peter was presented with his lifetime achievement award by the Oxfordshire High Sheriff, Mark Beard after the U13 Schools Cup Final at Wormsley, where he received a standing ovation from players, parents, officials and supporters.
