Sunday saw week 2 of the Oxford Indoor League Division 2 with Charlbury CC and Bartlemas CC commencing their campaigns.
In the first game Ascott-Under-Wychwood beat Bartlemas CC to remain undefeated and joint top of the table at this early stage.
Bartlemas batted first and posted a good total of 104 all out in 9.2 overs with Masood Karim 42 and Kavi Takoris 15. Rowan Moss being the pick of the bowlers with 1 for 23 off his 3 overs and 3 run outs!
In reply, Ascott paced their innings perfectly reaching 106 for 2 in 9 overs with Sam Barnes 25ret; Rowan Moss 22no and Stewart Moss 17no. Masood Karim taking 1 for 7 off his 2 overs.
The second match saw Stanton Harcourt CC beat Faringdon CC to remain unbeaten.
Faringdon batted first and were all out for 80 in 9.3 overs with George Liddiard 15; Craig Cook 11 and Rob Brown 10. An all round good bowling display from Stanton, but the pick of the bowlers being Ryan Wastie bowling his 3 overs for only 12 runs including a maiden!
In reply, Stanton Harcourt judged their innings well reaching 81 for 3 off 8.3 overs with Jon Bouer 25ret; Ryan Wastie 12no and Warren Sheehan 11no.
The third match saw Charlbury CC beat Deddington CC.
Deddington batted first scoring 83 for 2 off their 10 overs with Paul Smith 27no and Elliot Barton 20. A wicket apiece for Rob Knight and Louis Broad, but probably the pick of the bowlers being Emilia Bartram with economical figures of only 17 scored from her 3 overs.
In reply, Charlbury reached their target for the loss of 4 wickets in 8.5 overs with Tom Nash 26no and Matt Lyver 18. Rob Barton bowling his 3 overs for only 14 runs and Biz Noeg taking 1 for 24 off 3 overs.
The final game of the day saw Sunnigwell CC beat Eynsham CC to remain unbeaten.
Sunningwell batted first scoring 89 for 5 off their 10 overs with Dan Garson 25no and Karthik Ramsundhar 14. A wicket apiece for James Talbot, Darius Mistry and Andy Bain.
In reply, Eynsham lost wickets at regular intervals being bowled out for 63 in 8.3 overs with Luke Bowles 15 and Chris Snelling 12. Great bowling performances from 2 junior players; Louis Himpson with 0 for 12 off his 3 overs and Rhys Whinfrey 0 for 24 off his 3 overs.
